Regency Furniture Stadium, home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, yielded 45 percent more in revenue for Charles County than originally budgeted. Events at Regency Furniture Stadium, home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (independent; Atlantic League), yielded 45 percent more in revenue for Charles County than originally budgeted.

That's good news both for Opening Day Partners, owners of the Crabs, and Charles County. Opening Day Partners paid $241,515 in profits to Charles County for 2008 events. The deal between Opening Day and the county calls for a revenue share of all revenues relating to the facility, including non-baseball events. In addition, Opening Day pays admission and amusement taxes.

All in all, the $241,515 represented 45 percent more than the $167,123 projected and guaranteed by Opening Day Partners.
