The former Travis Credit Union Park is slated to open next spring at Simpson University.

The modular ballpark, also known as Nut Tree Stadium, was purchased by a Redding nonprofit group, which is closed to finishing a fundraising round of $2.2 million to install it at the college campus. The purchase included dugouts, scoreboard, lights, fences and netting, public address system, sprinkler system, offices and bathroom facilities.

The ballpark was formerly home to an independent Western League team. In Redding, the 3,300-seat ballpark will also serve as home to the summer-collegiate Redding Colt .45s.
