The Williamsport Crosscutters (short season A; NY-Penn League) will continue to be a farm team oif the Philadelpha Phillies, as the pair signed a two-year extension to their player-development contract, through 2012. The announcement was made prior to the Crosscutters' final home game at Historic Bowman Field.
In announcing the agreement, Phillies Asst. Director of Minor League Operations, Steve Noworyta stated, “The Phillies continue to be pleased with our relationship in Williamsport. The crew in Williamsport has been great to work with. The upgrades they continually make to the stadium are a tremendous help to our instructors and players. This extension once again shows that we’re happy being there.”
Crosscutters President Paul Velte added, “We are happy to be able to announce this extension in front of our fans. Our partnership with the Phillies has been a great boost for our organization and we hope it continues for many years to come.”
