U2 to play four ballparks in 2011

St. Louis CardinalsFour Major League Baseball ballparks — Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, Angel Stadium, Rogers Centre and Busch Stadium — will host rock band U2 on its 2011 360° Tour.

The band originally was scheduled to tour the United States in the summer of 2010, but physical issues related to Bono caused the delay of the tour.

The final lineup still must be determined, as dates are still being added. Yesterday the St. Louis Cardinals announced the July 17 stop for the band at Busch Stadium.

“This promises to be one of the most exciting concerts in St. Louis in a long time,” said William DeWitt III, president of the St. Louis Cardinals.

It should attract a record crowd to Busch Stadium, which in theory can hold upwards of 50,000 fans for a concert.
