Rau new assistant GM of K-Tribe

Kinston IndiansThe Kinston Indians (High Class A; Carolina League) have a new assistant general manager: Matthew Rau, a native of Fargo who worked the past six seasons for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (independent; American Association).

“Matt is a wonderful addition to the front office,” said K-Tribe General Manager Benjamin Jones. “He is a former college baseball player that has gone on to work for more than half a decade in Minor League Baseball. It is the perfect mix.”

Rau attended North Dakota State University in Fargo where he played baseball for the Bison while pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Matthew completed his B.A. in Business Administration at Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa with an emphasis on Marketing and Public Relations. Rau has also held the position of Director of Technology at Hope Lutheran Church in Fargo, and coached the Fargo American Legion Baseball team for three years.

“I am excited to be part of an organization with such a long tradition in Minor League Baseball,” he said. “I am looking forward to working with this staff, as well as the Kinston and surrounding communities.”
