New ballpark pitched for Cranbrook

Proposed Cranbrook ballpark

A new ballpark is being pitched for the expansion Cranbrook (BC) Eds (summer collegiate; Western Major Baseball League), as local baseball proponents seek to raise enough money to build a $7.2-million facility at Moir Park.

WMBLThe WMBL awarded an expansion franchise conditional on the construction of a league-compliant ballpark. The proposal for the facility comes from the Cranbrook Home Run Society; the ballpark design comes from GEC Architecture.

The ballpark proposal is on two levels, depending on how much money can be raised. A bare-boned 300-seat facility that meets WMBL standards could be built for $4.2 million, but the society is pushing for a 900-seat facility that will cost $7.2 million.
