We hinted at this a few weeks ago: Rob Crain, current AGM of the Omaha Storm Chasers (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League), is the new president/GM of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (Class AAA; International League).
Here’s where we laid the hint about Rob; we’re guessing his high-energy approach will go over well as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre fans prepare for a renovated ballpark and a team rebranding.
“I’ve had an incredible experience in Omaha and will miss everyone greatly,” Crain said. “My mentor, Martie Cordaro, has been my biggest advocate through this entire process. I cannot thank him enough for his leadership, guidance and most importantly, his never ending friendship. Martie, along with the new ownership group led by Gary Green, will continue to provide the best and most affordable family entertainment in the Omaha metro area.”
Crain has worked for the Omaha franchise since October of 2006 and has spearheaded the club’s advertising/sales team, which has set franchise revenue records the past five years running. He led the rebranding effort put forth as the team changed its identity from the Omaha Royals to the Omaha Storm Chasers and has also played an integral role in the design and construction of Werner Park.

Crain’s last day with the Storm Chasers will be Friday, July 13 and will start in Scranton / Wilkes-Barre on Monday, July 16.
