Grasshoppers close on purchase of NewBridge Park

The Greensboro Grasshoppers (Low Class A; Sally League) are now the proud owners of NewBridge Bank Park, paying $12.8 million for the ballpark.

Greensboro Baseball LLC closed on a deal to buy the facility from Joseph M. Bryan Foundation of Greater Greensboro. As you’ll recall, it took years of effort and a lot of work on the part of the Grasshoppers and the Bryan Foundation to make the deal work in the first place. That hard work certainly paid off, with the Grasshoppers a highly successful team and the ballpark a flagship in North Carolina.

When the ballpark was built in 2005 for $22.6 million, the Grasshoppers negotiated an option to buy the facility down the road from the foundation
