The Williamsport Crosscutters (short season A; NY-Penn League) and the Philadelphia Phillies extended their player-development contract (PDC) for two more years, through 2014.

The formal announcement was made at Historic Bowman Field prior to the August 31 game.

"Williamsport is an integral part of the Phillies player development ladder and we’re very happy to extend our relationship with a very well-run franchise in an historical baseball town," Phillies Director of Player Development Joe Jorda.

“We are very pleased to be able to announce this extension in front of our fans," said Crosscutters President Paul Velte. "The Phillies are a great organization. Our partnership with them has been tremendous and we hope it continues for many years to come.”
