Construction to begin this month on Fox Cities Stadium improvements

New Fox Cities Stadium

A renovation of Fox Citiies Stadium, home of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Low Class A; Midwest League), will begin soon in anticipation of the 2013 season.

The improvements were slated to begin now, but have been delayed by the team’s participation in the Midwest League playoffs.

Six suites, a banquet area and club seating would be added to a new second level, with additional concessions, an expanded customer-service area, an expanded team store, upgraded team offices and a wraparound concourse on the main level. From what it sounds like the expansion will be similar to the expansion the Kane County Cougars (Low Class A; Midwest League) undertook several years ago to good effect.

The renovation would also revamp the ballpark’s exterior, making it more inviting to fans.

The total cost of the project: $6 million.
