Marek new Voice of the Swampdogs

Fayetteville SwampDogsNick Marek is the new Voice of the Fayetteville SwampDogs (summer collegiate; Coastal Plain League).

Marek is a  senior studying journalism and mass communication at Arizona State University. Despite going to school out west, Marek has lived in Chapel Hill since he was four years old.

While at Arizona State, Marek co-founded the Walter Cronkite Sports Network (WCSN) with a few of his peers and he is currently the Vice President of the broadcasting department. The WCSN is a group of aspiring sports journalists who cover ASU athletics. The SwampDogs newest broadcaster used his club to produce a variety of print and online sports stories. He is also one of the website managers of Cronkite Sports.

“I am so humbled to be a part of such a prestigious team in the Coastal Plain League and I cannot wait to start working with the Fayetteville SwampDogs,” Marek said.

“We’ve been very fortunate in Fayetteville to have an incredible group of broadcasters in the past,” said SwampDogs general manager Jeremy Aagard. “We have the utmost confidence that Nick will continue that trend and be able to take the SwampDogs media relations to a whole new level. With his experience and positive attitude, we’re looking forward to the best summer yet for our fans listening in from across the country.”

“One of the reasons I’m so excited about this summer is that I will be living out my dream,” Marek said. “I’m not only confident about my career, but that I will be able to bring some new things to this organization.”
