Ovations lands new El Paso ballpark concessions deal

New El Paso ballpark

Ovations Food Services has landed the concessions contract at the new downtown El Paso ballpark scheduled to house a Triple-A team next season.

“Ovations is one of the largest, most-respected food service companies in the country, and we are proud to have them as our food and beverage partner at El Paso’s ballpark,” said Alan Ledford, president of MountainStar Sports Group, the owner group for the relocating Tucson Padres (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League). “Our goal for our guests is that they enjoy the entire ballpark experience, including delicious food with attention to local flavors. Ovations’ commitment to “everything fresh” made them the perfect fit for our ballpark.”

Ovations has already stepped to the plate, designing kitchen layouts, creating fresh menus for both catering and concession areas and implementing custom concepts. Ovations’ Everything’s Fresh program includes a special focus on using locally sourced ingredients and a rotating seasonal menu.

“We are thrilled to build a lasting relationship with the people of El Paso and provide world class food and beverage service at the new ballpark,” said Charlie Neary, Ovations’ executive vice president. “Ovations has been working diligently designing food and beverage areas that will allow us to fully execute our Everything’s Fresh commitment to food, customer service and employee management.”

Brad Taylor, general manager of El Paso’s Triple-A Baseball Team, added, “The culinary component that folds into the total ballgame experience is critical to our goal of providing quality, family-friendly entertainment in El Paso.  We look forward to promoting ballpark dining as we open our first season in April 2014.”

Ovations named Jeff Hanauer as the Food and Beverage General Manager at the new El Paso ballpark. Joining Ovations with extensive knowledge of the food service industry and a proven track record for success, Hanauer was previously the Director of Operations at Purdue University, and worked his way from Senior Accounting Manager to Director of Catering at Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, from March 2004 through February 2011.  Hanauer earned his Master of Business Administration from University of Louisville as well as a double Bachelor of Science degree of Management and Public and Managerial Accounting with a minor in Political Science from Tulane University.
