Personnel news in Great Falls, San Rafael

Great Falls VoyageursWe have a new general manager for the Great Falls Voyageurs (rookie; Pioneer League), while the San Rafael Pacifics (independent; Pacific Association) added two assistant GMs.

Scott Reasoner is the new GM of the Voyageurs, replacing Katie Meyer, who is turning entrepreneur after buying a business in Great Falls. Reasoner had been assistant GM; replacing him is new hire Matt Coakley.

Pacifics President and General Manager Mike Shapiro announced the departure of AGM Josh Jackson, who accepted a position with the Baylor University athletic department in his native Texas, with staffers Steve Detwiler and Tristan Barbieri would share his role with the Pacifics.

Additionally, Shapiro announced that Redwood High School assistant varsity baseball coach and Director of Licensing with Jessica McClintock, Inc., Jack Hedrich, had joined the Pacifics management team as Special Assistant to the President.

“Both Steve and Tristan have earned this promotion through their hard work and dedication to the Pacifics,” said Managing Principal Owner Eugene Lupario. “We’re very sorry to see Josh go but he’s got a great job at Baylor and gets to go home to Texas. Also, having Jack join our team brings us an experienced and proven business
executive who both loves the game of baseball and can help us continue growing and refining this venture.”

Detwiler, former San Rafael High School and Fresno State star outfielder, who also played for the Pacifics, will serve as Assistant General Manager for Operations. In this position Detwiler will head up the team’s sales efforts and oversee day-of-game operations as well as stadium operations.

“Knowing I couldn’t play baseball my whole life, I wanted to find a way to stay in the game and make a career out of it,” said Detwiler. “Eugene and Mike gave me a chance and I have learned so much about the business side of baseball. This promotion really is a great opportunity and I am excited to take on all challenges to make sure the Pacifics are around for years to come.”

Barbieri, a graduate of the University of San Francisco’s Sport Management graduate program, has served first as an intern for the Pacifics and then as Director of Operations. His new role as Assistant General Manager for Administration will expand on his duties to include administrative responsibility over business and baseball
operations.
