Wild Things add Marlin to front-office roster

12/03/2009 9:23 AM

The Washington Wild Things (independent; Frontier League) named Todd Marlin as managing director of the organization.

Marlin, a Dayton, Ohio native, was most recently with the Bridgeport Bluefish in Bridgeport Connecticut. He assumed the role of General Manager in October of 2007.

“On behalf of the ownership group, we are extremely excited to have Todd Marlin join our team as Managing Director,” said Jeff Coury, Managing Partner. “His previous minor league experience makes him the perfect fit to lead our organization, while continuing our mission of offering affordable family entertainment and with making CONSOL Energy Park a vital asset within the community in 2010 and beyond.”

Marlin began his baseball career in 1998 as an intern with the Nashua Pride in the Atlantic League’s inaugural year He spent eight seasons with the Pride. In 2003 he was named general manager, and in 2005 he was named the Atlantic League’s Executive of the Year.

During Marlin’s tenure with the Pride, the team won the Atlantic League Championship (2000), and in 2003 they advanced to the championship series before losing to the Somerset Patriots.

In 2005 Marlin left the Nashua Pride to become the General Manager of the Worcester Tornadoes of the Can-Am League.

“I’m very excited to join the Wild Things’ organization,” said Marlin. “This franchise has a fantastic reputation in the baseball world, and I look forward to making the 2010 season the best season yet.”
